Working for such a dope company gives you the advantage over the competition in some cases and this is one of those cases. Converse has been trying to dive head first in the skate industry for sometime now but to my knowledge there has been less success then they hoped for. I’ve seen a prototype here and there on shoes that they planned to put out for their skate line and as far as aesthetic appreciation, there was minimal. It has been awhile since I’ve seen another mock-up of a Converse skate shoe but what they settled with is impressive considering where they came from. The Converse skate line is appropriately named CONS and so far the shoes to make the preview for their January release date are the CTS (Chuck Taylor Skate) which is only your classical Chuck low with a bulkier body and tongue. The other pair are a mid shoe, the ERX 300 and remind me of the SB mid, which didn’t go over so well, but lets see if CONS can make it work. Don’t worry when they release they will be everywhere you can probably get them at your local grocer.
